Winnipeg mayoral candidates said on Oct. 2, 2026 that they will speed up the demolition of derelict houses, construct supportive apartments for people with addictions, and prevent councillors from using city funds for personal expenses.
The pledges were announced at a campaign event where the candidates outlined plans to address the city’s vacant housing stock and expand shelter options for individuals struggling with addictions.
