Provincial and territorial governments asked the federal Liberal administration to broaden eligibility for the mining exploration tax credit, aiming to help smaller mining companies finance their exploration work.
The appeal follows an election‑time pledge by the Liberals to widen the credit, and now almost half of the provinces and territories are pressing Ottawa to act.
