Two researchers measured Kapakaytay Falls with digital photogrammetry and calculated its height at roughly 16 metres, indicating it could be taller than the province’s previously recognized highest waterfall.
The falls are located in northern Manitoba, more than 100 kilometres from major settlements, and are known for being difficult to access.
Kwasitchewan Falls has long been considered Manitoba’s tallest waterfall, but the new measurement suggests Kapakaytay Falls may surpass it.
