Residents of Winnipeg's West End near Mission Baptist Church reported open drug use, growing trash piles and people sleeping outdoors, leading to calls for expanded outreach services.
The observations were made around the Mission Baptist Church property, which also hosts the Freedom International School. The visible drug consumption, litter and outdoor sleeping have heightened community concerns about safety and cleanliness.
Community members, including Bonnie Ferguson-Baird, are urging additional outreach resources to address the growing problems in the neighbourhood.
