Winnipeg police announced they have identified a fourth senior who lost $14,000 to an Edmonton man using a grandparent‑scam scheme. The suspect travelled from Alberta to Manitoba, posing as a relative to solicit money, bringing the total loss from the four victims to more than $50,000.

Grandparent scams involve fraudsters pretending to be family members to convince seniors to send cash, a pattern that has prompted police investigations across provinces.
