Winnipeg Police Service handed out 639 traffic notices under the Provincial Offence Act as part of a back-to-school road safety campaign during September and October 2026.

Officers were stationed at schools across the city for more than 20 days throughout the period, targeting drivers while students returned to class.

The total of notices issued this year exceeds the 539 notices recorded during the same campaign in 2025, indicating a heightened focus on student safety on the roads.
