Winnipeg Police Service announced on October 23 that it has halted the Crime Stoppers tip‑line after uncovering a data breach that released more than 1.5 million tips.
The breach, reported by CBC News, revealed tip information submitted through the nationwide Crime Stoppers service, which is used by police across Canada.
