Over 500 senior residents of Boston have signed up for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority’s Car‑Free Seniors pilot program. The initiative is designed to encourage older riders to use public transit in place of personal vehicles.

The pilot aims to support seniors by providing a reliable alternative to driving, promoting greater reliance on the MBTA’s services across the city.
