Boston Public Schools has put forward a plan to close Charlestown High School, citing a decline in student enrollment. The Boston School Committee may vote on the closure at its first meeting in December 2026.

City councilors Gabriela Coletta Zapata, Julia Mejia and Erin Murphy have voiced questions about the proposal.

The closure proposal is part of a district-wide review of schools affected by falling enrollment.
