A white oak estimated to be about 120 years old was removed from Ardale Street near Centre Street in the Roslindale neighborhood on Oct. 4, 2026 after the homeowner hired Stoughton tree service. Residents had long noted the tree’s shade over the street but believed the aging oak posed a danger of falling, leading to the decision to have it cut down.
The removal was carried out by the tree service following the homeowner’s request, addressing the safety concerns raised by the community.
