A man forced open a fare gate at the JFK/UMass Red Line station on October 11, 2026, at about 9:15 p.m. He broke through a single plexiglass panel to exit the station.
The individual said he was in a rush and could not wait for his fare card to activate the gate sensor. MBTA surveillance video recorded the incident, and MBTA Transit Police are seeking to interview the man.
