The Massachusetts Department of Public Health announced today that a twelfth human case of West Nile virus has been confirmed in the state.
West Nile virus, which is transmitted by mosquitoes, brings the total number of confirmed human infections in Massachusetts for 2026 to twelve, after eleven earlier cases were reported this year.
