Margaret Hamilton, a pioneer at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who wrote the flight software for the Apollo moon missions, died at age 90 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Hamilton, an Indiana native with a mathematics degree, joined MIT in 1959. She worked on weather‑prediction software with Edward N. Lorenz and later led the team that created the Apollo guidance software that enabled astronauts to land on the moon.
