The U.S. Postal Service will temporarily close the Fields Corner post office on Oct. 26 while it searches for a new location after its current lease expires.

The closure follows the end of the existing lease, and the Boston Public Facilities Commission has approved a five‑year lease for municipal land situated behind the post office.

The temporary shutdown is intended to allow time for the Postal Service to secure a new site for the facility.
