Democratic state Rep. Margaret Croke and Republican attorney Bryan Drew are contesting the Illinois state comptroller race slated for January 2027, seeking to replace incumbent Susana Mendoza.
Mendoza, a Chicago Democrat, has held the comptroller office for roughly ten years, so the 2027 election will mark the first change in the position in a decade.
