The Chicago City Council ethics committee is set to hold a hearing on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, to examine a World Business Chicago advertising campaign that uses public funds and includes Mayor Brandon Johnson and former President Donald Trump.

World Business Chicago, a nonprofit organization that receives both corporate contributions and city funding to market the city, is the focus of the review. Chicago aldermen and other officials are being questioned about the use of taxpayer money to promote political figures in the advertisement.
