Hundreds of hotel employees at six Chicago properties are maintaining a strike that calls for higher wages, enhanced health benefits and a safer workload.
The walkout started the previous week when staff at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk, Waldorf Astoria Chicago, Palmer House and a Hilton hotel, along with two other locations, left their positions to demand contract improvements.
Workers continue to press for a new agreement that would provide better pay, expanded health coverage and more manageable workload conditions.
