The City of Chicago has instructed Namdar Realty Group, the owner of Ford City Mall, to enhance security measures at the property and has set a court hearing to address the issue.

The mall, located in the West Lawn neighborhood, has been closed for an extended period and has experienced ongoing security problems. A recent incident captured on video showed dozens of individuals entering the shuttered mall, prompting the city’s directive.

A local alderman was involved in the city’s effort to address the security concerns at the mall.
