City streets in Chicago will be closed beginning the week of Oct. 5 and remain shut through Friday, Oct. 16, 2026, to accommodate the 2026 Bank of America Chicago Marathon scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11. The closures start at 4 a.m. each day and include Balbo Drive from Columbus to DuSable Lake Shore Drive, affecting two dozen neighborhoods.

The extensive street closures are intended to allow the marathon route to pass safely through the city, which winds through more than two dozen Chicago neighborhoods.
