ComEd has dismissed fourteen alternative locations it had evaluated for a new substation in Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood. The utility said the sites were unsuitable because of cost, size and existing infrastructure constraints.
The utility remains in search of a suitable site to serve the Lincoln Park area, while local residents and elected officials have asked for more detail on the site‑selection process.
