Chicago Public Schools officials reported that the class of 2026 achieved a graduation rate of 83.4%, the highest in the district’s history. The announcement also highlighted expanded college credential options and scholarship awards totaling close to three billion dollars.

The new rate represents roughly double the district’s earlier graduation figure, marking a notable improvement for a system that has historically posted lower percentages.
