A burglary of a freight train on Western Avenue forced BNSF commuter trains operating on Metra’s line to stop for roughly two hours, from just before 9 a.m. until just before 11 a.m., on Tuesday.
The interruption caused extensive delays for passengers using the Metra BNSF commuter route, and Chicago police responded to the scene alongside Metra and BNSF Railway personnel.
