Just after midnight on September 26, officers responding to a call in the 6400 block of South Mozart Street discovered a girl with a gunshot wound inside a home. The child was taken to Comer Children's Hospital while police secured a firearm at the scene.
After recovering the weapon, police arrested a person of interest in connection with the shooting.
