On October 15, 2026, Inspector General David Glockner announced that eight Chicago police officers illegally collected more than $191,000 from two federal COVID‑19 relief programs.

The funds were taken from programs designed to support businesses, and the officers are part of a larger inquiry that now involves 44 officers.

The city’s inspector general office continues its investigation into pandemic‑relief fraud within the police department.
