Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García, Sen. Dick Durbin and Sen. Tammy Duckworth are urging the National Archives and Records Administration to reverse its plan to close the South Side Chicago records center.
The National Archives announced it intends to shut the facility and relocate its holdings elsewhere.
The South Side center holds federal documents for the city, and lawmakers described the proposed closure as ill‑conceived.
