Lime cautioned that a possible contract extension for Divvy’s operator, Lyft, could limit competition and effectively create a monopoly as the bike‑share program prepares to add thousands of bikes and e‑scooters throughout Chicago.
The planned expansion would extend service from Rogers Park in the north to South Shore in the south, increasing the presence of both bikes and scooters citywide. Lime said the contract would arbitrarily restrict competition across neighborhoods.
