Chicago police sergeant Jeremy Sikorski has been charged with felony aggravated battery for punching a 17-year-old girl during an August 9, 2026 confrontation that was captured on video. The incident occurred on the 5100 block of South Merrimac Avenue on the city’s Southwest Side.

The teenager was filming when the sergeant struck her, an action that followed a prior viral video from the summer in which he was seen threatening a group of youths. After that earlier video, the sergeant was placed on administrative leave.

The new felony charge stems from this separate August incident, adding to the disciplinary actions already taken against him.
