The long‑vacant Uptown Theatre at 4816 N. Broadway has been added to the Open House Chicago tour, allowing visitors to see its interior for the first time in decades.

The historic movie palace, which has remained empty despite multiple revival attempts, is now part of the city’s Open House event organized by the Chicago Architecture Center and Open House Chicago. The tour features 101 sites across the city, and the Uptown Theatre joins that list.

The addition provides the public an opportunity to explore the theatre’s interior as part of the broader architectural showcase.
