House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and congressional candidate Eliott Rodriguez visited a well‑known Cuban bakery in Miami on October 19, 2026, as part of Jeffries’ South Florida tour supporting Rodriguez’s campaign for Florida’s 27th Congressional District.
A video of the visit posted by Rodriguez was quickly shared online, prompting criticism on social media.
The bakery and a competing business responded with separate public statements regarding the incident.
