Montreal’s boroughs announced that local taxes will rise by an average of 8.75% for the 2027 fiscal year.

The increase, approaching a 9% jump, is attributed to a difficult municipal budget faced by the administration of Soraya Martinez Ferrada.

Borough officials said the hike reflects the fiscal pressures they are currently managing.
