Montreal students took to the streets this October, joining French high school demonstrators in a series of protests that have continued for weeks.

The demonstrators are calling for improved learning conditions, an end to a decade‑long staffing shortage, and relief from rising living costs, unpaid internships, low public school funding and high university tuition.

These actions follow weeks of rallies by French high school pupils over similar staffing and learning‑environment concerns, prompting students across Quebec to voice comparable grievances.
