On Friday, the Parti Québécois government led by Premier Paul St‑Pierre Plamondon unveiled an emergency funding plan of $1 billion to be spent over four years to assist people experiencing homelessness in Montreal as winter approaches.
The initiative is intended to halve homelessness by 2030, reflecting a pledge made during the premier’s campaign. The premier has also appointed himself minister responsible for the issue.
