A judicial recount confirmed Stephan Fogaing of the Parti Québécois as the winner of the Vachon riding election in Longueuil on October 21, 2026.
The recount was ordered because the initial vote margin between the PQ and Liberal candidates was extremely narrow, and it reversed an earlier result that had placed Liberal candidate Affine Lwalalika ahead.
A spokesperson for the PQ government noted the outcome following the recount.
