Quebec farmers are voicing opposition to a proposed high‑speed rail line between Toronto and Quebec City, saying the route would cut across their farmland east of Montreal.
The project, supported by both federal and provincial governments, would create a corridor that passes through agricultural land in the region. Farmers contend that the line would split their fields and jeopardize their livelihoods.
