The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced a project to modernize signaling on the A and C subway routes and also shared information about upcoming station name changes.

The initiative will replace older signal equipment with newer systems intended to improve train frequency and reliability on the two lines.

While the announcement mentioned station renamings, it did not specify which stations will be affected.

The details were presented in the MTA’s “Ask the MTA” column, where officials respond to public inquiries about subway, bus and commuter rail services.
