The New York City Department of Transportation announced on Oct. 23 that it will install digital countdown clocks on bus shelters throughout the city, giving riders a clearer idea of how long they will wait for a bus.
The initiative comes amid perceptions of bus service unreliability and follows the use of similar countdown displays in subway stations.
