The Metropolitan Transportation Authority reports that five newly installed elevators at the 161st Street‑Yankee Stadium subway station have encountered outages. Several are offline during the baseball season, and one is projected to remain out of service until winter 2027 because of power problems.
The station, the busiest in the Bronx and a primary access point for Yankee Stadium, received the elevators recently as part of an effort to improve accessibility.
