The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey announced a project to build a deck over the Lincoln Tunnel approach in Midtown Manhattan. The deck will serve as temporary storage for buses and supplies while crews demolish and rebuild the Midtown bus terminal.
After the terminal reconstruction, the same structure is slated to be converted into a public park. The agency set a ten‑year timeline for the park conversion, aiming for completion by 2036.
The temporary deck is intended to provide the necessary space for bus operations and materials during the terminal work, and the later park will add new green space to the Midtown area.
