Dozens of families from the English Hill neighborhood in Redmond, Washington gathered to oppose a proposed shutdown of Sunrise Elementary School scheduled for 2028 because of falling kindergarten through fifth‑grade enrollment.
The school district’s consideration of closing the school follows a trend of decreasing enrollment, prompting the families to demonstrate during a Halloween parade.
