On October 23, 2026, the District of Columbia Council began debating a $620 million renovation of Audi Field that would add a roof and increase the venue’s event capacity. The proposal is intended to allow roughly 100 additional events each year.
Audi Field is the home stadium of D.C. United, the city’s Major League Soccer team, and the council’s discussion centers on how the upgrade could expand the stadium’s usage for more events.
