The Chicago Transit Authority announced that elevated train service in the Loop will be suspended on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24, 2026, to allow track maintenance at its largest junction.

The work will affect the four lines that run through the Loop, centered at the intersection of Lake and Wells streets, and service will be halted for the two‑day period while crews perform the repairs.

The CTA periodically shuts down Loop service for repairs as part of its routine upkeep of the elevated rail system.
