City officials and project representatives gathered on October 21, 2026 at the Foundry Park site along the North Branch of the Chicago River to break ground on a $3 billion megadevelopment.
The project, named Foundry Park, is planned to create a new neighborhood along the river after the prior owner failed to develop the land.
The location was previously part of the Lincoln Yards development; developers Jim Letchinger and Kayne Anderson Real Estate acquired the northern portion in 2025 following Sterling Bay's inability to proceed after the pandemic.
