Electronic Arts announced that its BioWare studio will be closed and the forthcoming Mass Effect title will be cancelled. The decision is part of company-wide layoffs and was disclosed in Montreal in 2026.
BioWare, a developer with more than 30 years of history, has been responsible for popular franchises such as Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
