Quebec Premier Paul St‑Pierre Plamondon has authorized the province’s new Education Minister, Joël Arseneau, to convene a province‑wide general assembly on education as early as the beginning of 2027.
The move comes after the Confédération des syndicats du Québec (CSQ) has spent the past two years campaigning for such an assembly.
By giving Arseneau the mandate to hold the meeting early next year, the Premier is responding to the CSQ’s long‑standing request for a province‑wide education forum.
