A 21-year-old woman was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after her vehicle struck a hydro pole at the intersection of Islington Avenue and Aylesbury Road in Etobicoke, Toronto. The collision occurred just after 1:30 a.m. on July 21, 2026, and resulted in the pole collapsing and live electrical wires coming down.
Toronto Police Service officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of a nighttime crash that had caused damage to the utility infrastructure. Upon arrival, officers found the hydro pole knocked over with exposed live wires, creating a hazardous situation for nearby residents and motorists.
