The Ontario Liberal Party says the provincial government led by Premier Doug Ford has connections to private career colleges, and that those links have resulted in the schools being excluded from the Ontario Student Assistance Program until at least 2030.

The ban applies to institutions such as Academy of Learning. The party argues that the alleged relationships prompted the decision to prevent these colleges from receiving OSAP funding, ending a period when the program had provided financial aid to students attending private career colleges.

The Liberal statement referenced involvement of Transportation Minister Prabmeet Sarkaria and MP Amarjot Sandhu in relation to the issue.
