The Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities said on Oct. 15 it cannot reliably determine whether the programs offered by two career colleges are bona fide, after those institutions were barred from receiving student financial aid.

The ministry noted difficulty in verifying genuine studies, which raises concerns about the colleges' eligibility for aid. Ontario has previously barred career colleges from student financial assistance due to doubts about the authenticity of their programs.
