The Special Investigations Unit announced that a Toronto Police Service officer’s use of lethal force during a North York raid was deemed justified, clearing the officer of any wrongdoing.
The ruling comes after the officer shot a suspect who had been accused of murdering Const. Marc Pinizzotto, a death that occurred during the same raid. The SIU concluded its investigation on 9 October 2026.
