The City of Toronto organized a two‑day Kids Vote Weekend on October 10 and 11, 2026. Children participated by voting for their favorite type of tree and received instruction on taking part in civic action.
The event was timed to coincide with the final days of advance voting for the municipal election, aiming to educate the next generation about civic participation through a fun voting activity. CBC reporter Mercedes Gaztambide covered the weekend.
