Toronto Police Service arrested a 29-year-old man after a theft during the Thanksgiving weekend that rendered most of Second Harvest’s food‑rescue trucks inoperable.

The incident occurred between October 10 and 12, 2026, and left the charity’s fleet of trucks out of commission. Second Harvest relies on its trucks to collect surplus food for redistribution to people in need across the city.
